We're Here to Help You
Clifford Chambers Charities is formed from a number of small charities that were established within the Parish between the 15th and 19th century. These were brought together within one Scheme in 1969, under one board of Trustees. We are a local charity with the primary objectives of providing education and welfare grants to individuals and groups and the provision of Almshouses within the Parish of Clifford Chambers.
The Welfare Fund
Provides grants to residents in situations of individual need which might arise as a result of illness, loss of employment or family bereavement. Groups supported include those providing health care and other welfare services to the Parish. Applications can be made at any time there is a need.
The Education Fund
Provides grants to residents of all ages engaged in full or part-time education or training. Applications, for example, can be made for one-off grants to support University and adult education as well as for extra tuition outside that provided by the Education Authority such as sport, music, drama, special needs and school trips. Schools and groups supported include those providing an educational service to the Parish. Applications can be made at any time there is a need.
Almshouses & Rental Properties
Clifford Chambers Charities own a number of Almshouses. This form of accommodation is normally a long-term agreement based on a resident being able to live independently. The Charities also provide rental property within the village of Clifford Chambers that can be let to people with strong connections to the village, our who work in the public services. The Charities maintain a waiting list. Information on either type of accommodation is available from the Clerk.
